Maritime Search & Rescue 2017

Maritime Search and Rescue returns on 23rd - 24th May 2017 in Helsinki, Finland, delivering an international forum for Coast Guards, Governments, response agencies, regulatory bodies, ship operators and wider industry to discuss current and future operational Maritime Search and Rescue requirements.

Search and Rescue (SAR) has never been more in the spotlight with numerous high profile incidents and innovations leading to a re-evaluation of objectives and capabilities. Priorities include a more effective approach to mass rescue operations highlighted by the Mediterranean crisis, development of new SAR technology, managing multiple parties and nations along with the role of industry.

With senior officials and high profile decision makers in attendance, this event will analyse the important issues when it comes to Maritime Search and Rescue.

We are now building the conference agenda and welcome enquiries from parties wishing to showcase their unique insights, case studies and future requirements. We are particularly interested to hear about projects within Arctic search and rescue, current and future EU projects, chemical identification and firefighting operations and firefighting onboard ships.

“I think its a great opportunity for equipment manufacturers, the shipping industry, for legislators to all get together to see the latest developments and share their views and thoughts on what’s coming next.”
Andy Winbow, Former Assistant Secretary General & Head of the Maritime Safety Division, IMO.
